ཞང་ཞུང་ཚང་།

In 1999, a Buddhist Englishman came to Lhasa to visit the monasteries. After two days, he went to the amazing Potala palace to visit there. He could speak a little Tibetan, so when he arrived at the palace he asked the manager of the palace’s white section, “Who built the Potala?”
“Gangshe,” (who knows) answered the manager.
“Ah yes, Gangshe!” replied the Englishman, who thought that “gangshe” referred to a proper person.
The next day, he went to the main temple for a look. There were many people there for offering. The Englishman asked one older man, “Who built the main temple?”
“Gangshe,” (who knows) replied the old man.
The Englishman noted to himself that the main temple also was built by Gangshe.
On the man’s third day touring the Tsuglakhang, he went to the bakor, which circumambulates the main temple. While he was going around the temple, he saw people leading a funeral procession. The Englishman asked a nearby businessman, “Who is that?” pointing his finger toward the body.
“Gangshe,” (who knows) answered the businessman.
The Englishman said, “Oh my goodness! Gangshe, who has accumulated such good merit, is dead!”
And he went to the main temple and prayed the whole day for this poor “deceased Gangshe”.
